Hotel Photographs comprises a series of images shot in the bland anonymous interior of a Novotel. The images are informed by an interest in the moments in a photo shoot (and in life itself) where nothing is happening.

These defiantly undetermined moments — of waiting, staring blankly, or even sleeping — are combined with fictional themes from Forced Entertainment’s Hidden J (in rehearsal at the time of the shoot). Particularly interested in the idea of people hiding out in a hotel for long periods of time, the series explores the relationship between the present and recreated events from the past.
