How can I learn more about the company and the way they work?
Take a tour around this website! For an idea of our working practices visit How we work and for more detailed information explore the More about our work section.
How can I learn more about specific shows and projects?
The Projects section of the website gives details of all Forced Entertainment’s past and current projects so start your search there. As well as descriptions and images, where possible we’ve included clips, programme notes, reviews and other fragments to give you a fuller impression of each project.
If you want even more detail then take advantage of the fact that many of our performances have been documented as DVDs and texts available to buy from our Shop – you can find other more general research resources here too.
Can I audition for the company? Do you send out audition notices for new projects? Do you advertise for designers etc.?
Forced Entertainment is a permanent ensemble of six members who have worked together for the last 30 years. Due to this unique position we only very occasionally cast for shows - when we want to expand the group to make a bigger piece for example. We do advertise these opportunities but the best way to make sure you don’t miss an audition call is to subscribe to our newsletter.
We do also work with a regular team of collaborators on design, lighting, sound and production so opportunities for these roles tend to be very limited. If there is a chance to work with us in these ways they will be advertised as above.
Can I do work experience or an internship with Forced Entertainment? Can I observe rehearsals?
Currently the company does not have a formal intern programme and is very limited as to what can be offered in this respect especially when it comes to working with and observing the creative team. This is due to the very busy touring schedule, pressures on the group’s rehearsal time and other commitments.
If an opportunity does come up then the best way to make sure you hear about it is to subscribe to the newsletter.
Do you run workshops?
Workshops are often organised in parallel with our UK tour dates, in association with venues, universities and colleges. The best way to stay informed about these is to subscribe to the newsletter.
